One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them...

only recently did i start reading the lord of the rings trilogy after i found it on the shelves of a rent-a-book shop. i know i'm a bit late because the hype is gone already but a classic is always a classic. just finished the fellowship of the ring a couple of weeks ago and now i'm almost half way through the two towers. if you think the movie(s) is beautiful then you really need to read the masterpiece yourself if you haven't already. the way the story was told was magnificent. jrr tolkien was really a master in describing the feelings of the characters, the colours of the places in the story, the atmosphere. it's almost like you are there with frodo or aragorn or the ents. if you have read it tell me what you think, or do you prefer the movie?
